Field Notes

Description:

This is a spotting of two separate species - a snowflake moray eel (Echidna nebulosa, for more pictures of this eel see my separate spotting) and a blue-spotted grouper (Cephalopholis argus). These guys hunting together is probably the most interesting thing I have seen while diving. The moray would go into crevices and the little fish that try to escape were catched by the grouper.

Habitat:

Coral reefs

Notes:

Unfortunately this is the best shot I got as the grouper fled the scene soon. Moray hung around though - for more picture see this spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6166027
