White beetle with black spots. Wings about 1.5 times the length of body

Habitat:

Residential

Notes:

The area is near a large golf course with lake and lots of wildlife. Also, near Everglades area.

I think you're right ceherzog, check this out: http://bugguide.net/node/view/78472 I think its a pretty good match.
I think this is a weevil. There is someting that looks very similar that makes notches in the leaves of many of my fruit trees. Have you seen any leaf notches?
