Field Notes

Description:

Attractive upright woody spikes about 140 cms tall with delicate white flowers. Flowers were four-petalled with three pointing down. There were about 30 flowers on the raceme with buds closer to the tip of the inflorescence. Leaves were lanceolate with serrated margins. <br> Seed pods were egg shaped.

Habitat:

Spotted on the side of the road in a nature reserve.<br> This plant is a native and is distributed through out Victoria.

Notes:

There are two subspecies in Victoria. <br> Family: Plantaginceae.
