Description:

Bush made of long branches extending out rather than a compact mounding bush. The yellow flowers are attractive to butterflies.

Habitat:

Wet regions. Tropical regions of the Americas.

Looks like the one I grew from a clipping from small bush I found next to a drainage canal. Unfortunately, it has grown to about nine feet, tall and wide! Red bark, blooms are mostly 4-petal, but also 5- and 6-petal. Seed pods about 1 1/2 inch long. Had to remove it today, taking over yard! Did save a couple of clippings, may plant in different spot away from house.
