Description:
It was nice to see a native tree frog instead of a Cuban Tree Frog. The Cuban Tree Frogs started showing up in our yard a couple years ago and I saw a steep decline in native tree frogs hanging around our house. This little one was living inside the tree and I saw it a few times over the course of a few days there. This one had some interesting brown and tan markings, whereas some of them are green (see https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/1769366002)
Habitat:
Inside a hole in a maple tree in a suburban yard next to a forest. This maple tree seems to be a host to a variety of species, including a host of lichen species, fungi, grizzled mantids, ants, and frogs to name a few.
