Description:

Iridescent blue damselfly, with black abdominal bands, about two inches long.

Habitat:

Pacific Northwest montane forest.

Notes:

Spotted resting on a rock along the shore of East Lake in Newberry Crater National Volcanic Monument in central Oregon.

Species ID Suggestions

Spenser - Thanks for the suggestion. It motivated me to do some looking around online, and as a result I'm inclined to believe my spotting is Argia sp., perhaps Argia vivida.
Looks like an Ischnura species.
