Field Notes

Description:

Copaxa are large moths that rest with spread wings. They have prominent discal spots and can typically be recognized by a silver leading edge to the forewing. I read they likes avocado.

The wingspan is 90-120 mm for males and 105-125 mm for females.

Habitat:

The species in widespread in South America at low to medium altitudes.

Notes:

I couldn't get closer, it was really high and... I'm afraid of big moths.

Love the subtle markings and distinct lines on this one, nice Carolina!
You found it, Juan! Thank you!
I tried Alice, but I didn't have luck.
