Description:

Late afternoon, strong sun on a slant in all but the first photo. I was happy to find an Imperial Moth this summer. Larvae feed on plants the Southeast U.S. has in abundance, oak, maple, sweetgum, sassafras, pine. Large moth, wingspan of this one 3.5 to 4 inches.
