Description:

The stalk, composed of tough, gelatinous, interwoven strands of,brown or black. 12cm stalk topped with a round head covered with a warty semi-circular cap, or lid, which falls off as the fungus matures.

Habitat:

Found in leaf litter on the edge of walking track
