Field Notes

Description:

Light orange butterfly with long wings (I guess that's why they sometimes are known as Longwings and are characterised by their simple patterns, elongated forewings and delicate fluttering flight.) , and some black markings on the wings.

Habitat:

Our garden, Los Palos Grandes, Altamira, Caracas, Venezuela. Near the Cerro del Avila mountain range and at 1000m above sea level.

Notes:

This butterfly has a lovely flight and was fluttering into our garden which gave me the opportunity to take its picture quick.

Why is this in the “Life and Mathematics” mission? I think it might not quite fit with the purpose of that mission.
