Field Notes

Description:

Fairy rings also occupy a prominent place in European folklore as the location of gateways into elfin kingdoms, or places where elves gather and dance.

Notes:

A buddy of mine at work said they call these fairy rings or circles when they grow in a ring formation, its an old legend passed down in his family. Supposedly the fairy's left them?

Likely Coprinus I don't know how you would track down A Fairy Ring Myth, but you could ask a Reference Librarian if they have anything.
