Field Notes

Description:

bucketful of honey combs

Habitat:

central madagascar

Notes:

I was doing a 6 day trek in Isalo National Park. We were very far from any civilization. I was surprised when I woke up one morning to see 2 honey collectors trading some wild honey comb for some of our food. I ate the honey combs and it was delicious. It was the first time I had eaten honey comb.

Thanks and yes, it was very interesting and unexpected.
That really is an interesting experience!!
Yes, it was very sweet. I chewed on them until there were just some hard bits left, then spit it out.
Is it sweetish in taste? No bees in there I hope!!
