Most of the Manatees are back out in the Gulf of Mexico and The Atlantic ocean. This is an adult on the river.

Well, you may have the West Indian Manatee (Trichechus manatus) or you may have the subspecies Florida Manatee (Trichechus manatus latirostris).
Yes, I think Manatees they are wonderful too!
Occasionally when the temps were right, we could see manatees all the way up in the northern edge of Jacksonville in the inter-coastal waterway. I never saw them on the St. Johns River in Jax, nor did I ever see them in the Destin area or the Choctahatchee Bay area (salt water). They might have been hanging out on the Chatahoochee River or some of the smaller rivers, but I never saw them there. Wonderful creatures.
Awe...I love the manatees. Is "the river" Chrystal River by chance?
