I was actually trying to get the flower when the bee flew into the frame! I'd love if someone could tell me what specific species of bee this is. Thanks!
Well, it's a Megachilid bee because it has the Scopa (hairs for collecting pollen) on the abdomen instead the legs, as most of the bees. Then, the body structure is similar to Osmia genus. In bees color seldom is used for identifying bees, but of course, for been sure you should run a taxonomic key.
