Field Notes

Description:

A pale yellow butterflyfish with numerous small dark spots. There is also a black bar extending above and below the eye and a black margin to the anal fin. The largest recorded specimen was 13 centimeters.

Habitat:

MacKay reef, Great Barrier Reef, Queensland.

Notes:

That's a golden butterflyfish on the right, and some blue-green chromis to the left and above.

One day I'm going to have to buy a proper underwater housing for my Nikon. But I enjoyed playing with my little Fuji while at the Reef, even if the photos were a bit blurry.
