I'd consider it more moth than a beetle given it's wings

Karen, if you look in your link, the “beetle” submitted to BugGuide has also been identified as Lycomorpha pholus.
Lycomorpha pholus is an excellent mimic of Net-winged Beetles, especially in the genus Calopteron, but it is a moth (order Lepidoptera) rather than a beetle (order Coleoptera). Great spotting!
