I think it is a Flat-backed Millipede but there are at least 2 genera with that common name. If anyone has expertise on these guys please chime in. Thanks for the help mdwildlife

Alice, I just did a bit of research and have discovered that this is a millipede rather than a centipede...but that's as far as I gotten so far. Yes, it's hot but today there was a drop in temp to the 80's. I'm in SC http://www.desertusa.com/animals/centipede-vs-millipede.html Millipedes have 2 legs per segment, centipedes have 1.
Claire, You need to update your Centipede. Is it hot there?
yes indeed i also think this is a centipede. It also looks a bit like Athro Ploura!
