Small fiddler crabs. In the town of Tamarindo, El Salvador

Habitat:

Tidal mud flats

Notes:

Hundreds to thousands of these small crabs on a coastal mud flat. Filtering the mud for food, and tossing the little balls of processed mud aside.

Yes, I'd say fiddler crab. The male with the asymmetric claw, the female symmetric.
