Field Notes

Description:

Growing directly on ground, no stipe. 18+ fruiting bodies, from lily-pad like to conically cupped. Smallest are cup shaped and 2.5 cm diameter and 0.5-1.0 cm tall. Largest are very flat and 5cm diameter. Colour is orange-brown getting lighter towards margin. Margin is lobed; edge is mildly jagged with dark brown jags. Flesh is very brittle, thickness is 1mm. The arrangement on the ground is mostly in a ring approx 1 meter in diameter, but some are growing inside ring. Flesh is damp when broken. Scent is not notable. Underside has whitish fuzz.

Spore print: white, faint.
