Field Notes

Description:

This largish hoverfly has three pairs of whitish comma markings on the abdomen, a yellow face, reddish legs and a black femur base.

Habitat:

Holarctic distribution. Spotted here on an alpine meadow, 1500 m above sea level.

Notes:

Flower is a buttercup.

The bee is saying to the flower, "Your color and taste, both are very good. So I kiss you, kiss you and miss you my dear!"
It reminds me of Scaeva pyrastri a european hoverfly species. You might want to check this.
