Field Notes

Description:

Brown, black, and white coloring. Hooked bill. Long yellow legs.

Habitat:

According to Wikipedia, they can inhabit, woodlands, cattle ranches, small woods etc. See listed reference.

Notes:

I found these birds perching at the top of some trees in a wide open field in the late afternoon. There were serveral of them. I wish I had been a little closer, or had a better camera to take clearer shots, but was excited to get the pictures I did.
