This one is a serious mango pest. A few of this caterpillars can defoliate a new grown mango tree.

i kept this one for more than 2 weeks. it kept eating (mango leaves) and excreting black pellets, but didn't pupate and metamorphosed. Finally i got bored and released it back on mango tree.
Looks a lot like a Fern cup moth larvae (Hedraea quadridens) though it's clearly not. I'm really curious to know what it is.
Marta, I did not see the butterflies. Sorry. But one thing, it was quite painful if you touched this caterpillar. I guess, its setae tips are poisonous.
