Field Notes

Description:

Small Brown moth that looks like a dead, dried up old leaf. The face is very dark, in fact it makes the moth look like it was hollow inside. Small brown stripes on its wings.

Notes:

Found perched on the end of a truck in the middle of the day when it was very hot.

Species ID Suggestions

Burrito Moth

Datana sp.

These moths are best distinguished as caterpillars. I'll let you know if I can find a key to the species.
