Dianthus superbus
46.345, 6.00302

Description:
Herbaceous perennial, about 40 cm tall and growing in massifs; and producing terminal five-petaled flowers (about 3cm across). Petals are heavily fringed, and comes in pale pink or white colours. Note that selected varieties of D. superbus are popular in gardens; here the plants observed are autochtones and they are in their natural setting.
Habitat:
Found in a large numbers, almost covering the edges of pastures and edges of coniferous forest in montane zones of Jura range - observed everywhere I went this August in Jura summits, above 1500m of altitude.
