Field Notes

Description:

Our honey bees are trying to keep dry. You can see they're unhappy about all the rain we've been having these past few days. They're very gentle, hard-working bees. We're so proud of them.

Habitat:

These bees are widely distributed, though they tend not to winter here too well compared to Russian bees.

Notes:

This is our first year keeping bees, and we plan to add on.

It's possible we'll try for honey next year, but for now we're concentrating on building a strong colony. To observe them working is sweet enough for now.
