I believe that it is some kind of flitillary, but I am having trouble pinpointing the species.

Thanks for narrowing it down for me. I was so confused when I looked at all of the pictures in my kaufman's insect guide.
I know it is Fritillary, but which one I am not certain. Atlantis comes close. In reading more, it might be Aphrodite. Atlantis is found in the West, Aphrodite in the East.
