Field Notes

Description:

Woody vine that climbs with tendrils, ten to fifteen feet. White trumpet flowers with a yellow throat and crooked neck. Flat, rough pod.

Habitat:

I won this plant years ago at a Master Gardener meeting and have had it growing on my gazebo ever since, but I tent it every winter. It would not be winter hardy here in zone 7b otherwise. It seems to take summer heat in stride, but isn't too fond of freezing weather.
