Description:

5/8 inch long; blue-black above, pale blue underneath; abdomen appears to be reddish
also appears to have long proboscis folded under body

Habitat:

spotted on dead sapling of cherry laurel

Nice color, so bright!
Looking back at some of my previous spotting, I believe I have mistaken this bug for box elder bug as suggested in the wikilink.
