Field Notes

Description:

The starfish are Echinoderms. Echinoderms are marine invertebrates. Starfish are now being called "seastars" because they are not fish. Seastars are very friendly. There are 5 legs on a common seastar. There can be up to 23 legs. If a seastar is under attack and looses a leg, the leg will always grow back.

Habitat:

Seastars live in any type of salt water. If one of them are placed in fresh water, they will not be able to survive.

Notes:

I love starfish. I was glad that I had found one.
