Field Notes

Description:

They are diurnal and arboreal, traveling through the trees with rather quick, jerky movements. Social group structures and sizes vary amongst species as do the physical traits. Some species have been found cohabitating, and as a result these mixed troops are able to use information to find the best food sources.

Habitat:

Preferred habitats are tropical forests, open woodlands, and secondary growth.
C. jacchus is found on the Brazilian coast: in Piaui, Ceara, and the Pernambuco Provinces.

Notes:

They are live in the riparian forest near the Sao Paulo city (about 20 KM).
Often sleep on top of eucalyptus.

Carolina, I Iooked again and I think you're right about the two species....
Carolina, They are of the same family. Live in the same group.
I think you have two species here, Callithrix jacchus and penicillata, but I'm not sure, maybe the lighting is playing with me.
