Description:
This plant has a round cluster of many individual pale lavender flowers. Height about 3 ft. with a square stem and opposite pairs of leaves.
Habitat:
Spotted at Tamarac near the Visitor Center. It can be found in sunny dry fields, prairies and along roads.
Notes:
Also called Horsemint or Bee Balm. This plant has a strong odor when rubbed or crushed. The heads of the flowers attract many insects, including bees, butterflies and beetles.
