Description:

The Barn Owl has a heart-shaped, white face with dark eyes. Colouring is grey washed with gold/brown and flecked with black spots above and below is white with dusky grey flecks. One of the most easily recognised of all owls throughout the world. Has a short tail and long fine legs with sharp talons.

Habitat:

As it's name suggests, the barn owl is commonly found in barns where mice and rats are abundant. Also found in open forests, woodlands, farms, urban areas, parks and gardens.

Notes:

This beautiful Barn Owl was spotted at Lone Pine Koala sanctuary outside of Brisbane. Such a curious owl and so photogenic!

Such a beauty! I used to really cherish the rare sightings I had of a barn owl flying at night when I lived in England.
