thanks for the ID Latimeria. I have seen wheel bugs in my yard later in the season.
I'm pretty sure that's a wheel bug nymph. The red abdomen gives them away. When they're adults, they grow to be the largest terrestrial bugs in North America, about 1.25 inches long.
could be luciano, although I don't know if the same species are found in N and S America. I saw smaller ones in my yard the week before http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6560251
