You're right it is a red-bellied woodpecker, thanks!!
It's a bit hard to tell from this photo, but it is probably a Red-bellied Woodpecker (Melanerpes carolinus). Further to the southwest, you'd have a similar looking species called a golden-fronted woodpecker (Melanerpes aurifrons), but based upon the habitat and location I'm thinking red-bellied.
