Early stage of mushroom. White and pale brown fruiting body. Opens to a circular canopy. Turns black.

Habitat:

Growing in lawn beneath a plum tree

Yeah, I think you are correct. I think they go with another photograph I put on as a separate sighting. These are slightly older photographs I am just getting round to putting on.
Also looks like Coprinus atramentarius. Go back and look in a week; if it's a black inky goo it was an inky cap.
