Description:

A male Masai Ostrich chases after a female during breeding season. In the second photo, the male engages in a mating display; almost dance-like gyrating and flapping its wings, which reach a span of about 2 metres (6 ft 7 in).

Habitat:

The Maasai Mara National Reserve (MMNR) covers some 1,510 km (583 sq mi) in south-western Kenya. The terrain of the reserve is primarily open grassland with seasonal riverlets.
