Description:

This green chrysalis is the stage between the caterpillar and the butterfly. Before the butterfly emerges, the chrysalis will become transparent.

Habitat:

Monarch butterflies are a migrating species with a wide range in North America. This chrysalis was spotted along the FL route on a terracotta pot.

Notes:

The terracotta pot was conveniently next to a milkweed plant.
