Description:

Group of black skimmers along the shoreline. They are not actively feeding. If they were, they would be flowing low over the water. They are enjoying a beach that the oil spill did not impact.

Habitat:

Tropical to subtropical, breeding on sandbanks and sandy beaches of the Americas.

Notes:

The Black Skimmer is protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
