Field Notes

Description:

Small red bromeliad capable of catching water in a cup. This one is flowering with small purple flowers. The leaves are not spiny, but do have the occasional tiny spine, maybe once an inch.

Habitat:

Yard in the tropical south. Native to Brazil.
