Field Notes

Description:

Body white except for black wings and back. Bulky yellow bill with a a red tip, yellow legs.
Body up to 66cm long

Habitat:

Coastal areas & off shore islands

Notes:

Pacific gulls often drop molluscs from a height to break shells so they can feed on the soft creatures inside.
Usually found in singles or pairs, adults are relatively sedentary; young birds disperse
