Field Notes

Description:

A very bizarre larva with dark brown tufts, an orange body and white thorax and tail end with long white tufts. The head capsule is kept tucked under the thorax for protection.

Habitat:

Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.
