There is a reason you don't recognize this bee, because it isn't a bee at all! It's a Syrphid Fly. Syrphids are also called "Flower Flies" or "Hover Flies" and many of them are bee and wasp mimics. Some of them even buzz! Thanks to your excellent macro shots, it was not too difficult for me to find the species.
