Thanks! Good to learn something new- I'm surprised my monarchs ate it now.
That's a dogbane, genus Apocynum. It's probably Indian Hemp, named for its usefulness as a fiber plant.
It's not the common milkweed, but it's in our wetlands area, I think it might be the swamp milkweed. The monarchs we raised last year loved it.
Do you know what kind? I've never seen a milkweed that looked like that.
