Description:

Anthene rubricinctus, the Indigo Ciliate Blue, is a butterfly in the Lycaenidae family.

Adults of both sexes are attracted to flowers and males sometimes mud-puddle.

Habitat:

This species is found in relatively open woodland habitats including along roadsides and the edges of wide trails. This one was seen on bushes by the side of a dirt road running through the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, SW Uganda.
