A distinctive smaller fritillary. This butterfly flies from low levels to high mountain meadows.

Habitat:

Mountain meadow, 1800 m above sea level.

Thanks for your ID suggestion Kristen! I'll take it on. A much better match than any of the Hesperiidae. Some individuals on these pictures are virtually identical to mine. I've used the eurobutterflies.com site before and it's fantastic!
Alice, I went through a whole list of European Hesperiidae. It comes close to a checkered skipper but I not convinced...
Thank you very much for the lead Alice. I will be checking those.
It comes fromthe Checkered Butterfly group, but I can't get a handle.
