Ashish and Lars, thanks! Lars I think you're right: take a look at this one: http://www.insects.ch/php/mhsCms/index.php?action=showItemDetail&NEWS_ID=544&NGR_ID=58&PHPSESSID=46cc108282cfb5abb8f8a8741ab65ddc Let's go with it!
Thanks for reminding, Daniele - I reall ythink its a var. from the Gaurotes virginea
Its surely a Flea beetle.
you're welcome - not that much effort since no one got hurt :)
No, I am sorry, Daniele - but I got a similar one that I thought it was a Mulmbock - which it is not...maybe I find out more about mine (which is different to yours)...and with it about yours :)
Great Lars! Do you know which of the variations/subspecies it might be with its black thorax? Otherwise I'll try to look it up...
I think I got it finally, Daniele - it's a variation of the suggested ID
Thanks ARtPeNnography! p.young713, thanks for the ID suggestion. However the Emerald ash borer hasn't reached Switzerland. Also, the borer's antennas are short; this beetle has long antennas.
Thanks for your comments Nicole and Ashish! Hard indeed to ID those from pics Nicole; I think there's a good reason why good old fashioned entomologists captured bugs! Ashish as per your previous suggestion I went though an entire drawing plate of multiple species of Agonum and one was very close, but... I will have a look at your new link! Thanks for your efforts with this.
Daniele hope you find match on following link http://claude.schott.free.fr/Carabidae/Carabus/Carabidae-liste-planches.html
Shiny fellow! They are hard to ID, no?
Yes Daniele that's why I not suggest it as ID.. :) Its can be Agonum sp.
Thanks for your suggestions Lars and Ashish! I am far from the Coleptera specialist... The distribution map below doesn't show Catascopus being found in Europe: http://zipcodezoo.com/Key/Animalia/Catascopus_Genus.asp For Ergates faber and Pseudovadonia livida (Kleine Halsbock) I can't find any pics showing them with green elytras. The overall anatomy is very close to Pseudovadonia livida though; long antennas, and head and pronotum are black...
It's a Kleiner Holzbock, Daniele. Pretty sure.
This beetle is from following link's family http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carabidae I feel its one of Catascopus sp
