Description:

This is the web of a Cyclosa sp. I can say that with some confidence, despite the fact that the spider was not present on its web when I took this picture. The size and style of the basic orb, on which the stabilimentum is built, could have been made by almost any orb weaver, but the style (not the overall shape which varies greatly) of the laying down of the aciniform silk of the stabilimentum is, I think, pretty much unique to Cyclosa spp. The fact that the spider was not on the web is not too surprising. The web is, obviously under construction and in very good condition. So, I think it safe to assume that the spider has gone off-web to forage for debris to use in the construction of a trashline decoration.

Habitat:

This spider was spotted on its web, moored on small twigs near the base of a clump of Spiny Bamboo (Bambusa blumeana), locally known as Kawayan Tinik. Plant information from - http://www.stuartxchange.org/Kauayan.htm...

Notes:

This web was less than 3 ft. away from the web in https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/1930286665... That is why the Habitat is exactly the same.
