Field Notes

Description:

A purple/pink flower with 5 petals and alternate leaves. I think this is some type of phlox but I can't quite determine which one it might be.

Notes:

I am currently stuck between calling this Phlox latifolia, Phlox amplifolia or Phlox paniculata. I found this plant growing along a trail on the way to a waterfall at Frozen Head State Park in TN.
