Description:

This is a large wading bird. It was seen wading in the gulf waters off the FL coast.

Habitat:

Widespread near shores of open water and wetlands. Spotted in the coastal tropical south.

Notes:

The Great Blue Heron is protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
