Field Notes

Description:

This woodpecker had a black wing with white spots, a white head with a red stripe on the top a white beak, and a black eye patch.

Habitat:

This was a very popular branch today and several birds took turns eating the bugs that were in the dead branch.

Notes:

Corrected ID..He's not a Hairy but a Downy Woodpecker...about 3 inches smaller than the Hairy Woodpecker.
